The Effect of Fiber Volume Fraction on Fiber Distribution in Steel Fiber Reinforced Self-Compacting Concrete

This paper investigates the effect of fiber volume fraction on distribution in steel reinforced self-compacting concrete (SFRSCC) through experiments and numerical simulations. Three types SFRSCC beam specimens with different fractions (0.3%, 0.6%, 0.9%) were cut to expose fibers. The number orientation angle fibers sections determined by image analysis techniques. Fiber density, segregation coefficient, dispersion coefficient applied evaluate sections. Based experimental data, models simulating pouring process fresh established analyze overall specimens. results show that state is not random uniform, which correlated fraction. Due variable rheological properties, a greater causes better uniformity, lower worse alignment Meanwhile, law along length direction almost independent In addition, increasing increase average can provide reference for optimizing matrix.
